I received this temperature gun at no cost to me in exchange for my honest unbiased review.
I will start off by saying I really enjoy technology and innovation. This is one of those items that can be super useful or a waste of money.This depends on a few factors:
Do I have a use for it?
Will I use it?
Does it work?
In my case I will say yes to all 3. I currently work in a concrete company as a plant manager and batcher. I definitely had real uses for it, checking air conditioning, cement temperature and a few others. I also used it often for other simple fun or I just want to know task. It definitely works if you ask me. I first judged it by doing relative readings. Checking things I know are hotter or colder than each other and seeing if it marked them that way, yes it did. I then measures things I know approximate temperatures and again it was effective. Lastly I used it to check air conditioning temperature next to the A/C thermostat, also correct. 
It works that's for sure. It feels comfortable in my hand.
The options are easy to use and navigate.
The battery compartment is peculiar but better in my opinion. (D battery by the way)
Through my experience and my colleagues, most of which wanted one or mine, I can say with confidence I give this temperature gun a 5/5 rating.
