I just read "My Favorite Animal: Cobras".

I think this book has a lot of great information for kids about snakes, but I do believe the vocabulary used may be too difficult for children age 4-8. Although there was a index in the back with definitions for some I think they would of done better in the same page as where the words were used. It would be a great book to read to your kids but it would probably be too difficult and confusing for them to read on their own. I would also like to comment that the pictures in the book seem to be mostly snapshots of snakes and not really of what they are describing about the snakes. I would recommend they use labels/diagrams to correlate with the text or maybe a cartoon showing the actions they are talking about. I do believe this would be a great book for older children and maybe not 4-8.
